MAC Pro

After what seemed as if forever, I have finally been approved to be apart of the MAC Pro Membership Program. Im totally elated! I have already purchased two foundations for my kit. It is a small purchase, but it was a great one. And who can forget the discounted price! I do plan on picking up some more things in the future when funds are available. I did have to pay $35 for the membership card after being approved. However, I find that it is totally worth it. If you are an avid MAC shopper or want to be then you will reap the $35 you spent on the fee. You will save well over $35 if you do any kind of shopping at MAC; be it light or heavy hauling. One perk is that MAC offers workshops and classes to Pro Members. This is fabulous for people who want to touch up on their skills or learn new things. The classes are NOT free but you do end up getting your money back in the form of a MAC gift card (for most classes). So you give a little, you get a lot. I feel it is totally worth it and I cant wait to purchase more product.

HOW DID I GET MY CARD?

Well, I made sure I sent in all the appropriate documents so that I would not be black listed. YOU WILL BE BLACK LISTED IF YOU ARE NOT A MUA AND CONTINUOUSLY APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP! After filling out the application, I sent in a composite card, business card and a screenshot of my website. That's all I had to do.

Lifestyle Shoot

Here are the professional photos from the lifestyle shoot that I did. You saw the previous post where I showed you behind the scenes. Now, here is the outcome. Im not too excited about the photos. I do appreciate that I now have photos showing my range in makeup. Now I can show people that I do work on caucasian clients as well. Other than that, Im not much of a fan. I wish there was more variety in the photos.

Lifestyle Photo Shoot

So yesterday I was granted the chance to do yet another photo shoot. This time the theme was lifestyle. The model was a very beautiful young woman; the photographer was as well. It was a pleasure working with them. I can not wait to get my hands on the professional pictures. 

For the first look we were going for something nice and clean. I went a little heavy on the blush and created a pink lip to keep in neutral and chic.  For her eyes I went really simple. When you think of lifestyle its really everyday life. So I just accentuated what she already had.

 

 For the second and last look. The photographer wanted a gray eye and bold lip. She I chose this gray shadow and I added a little black to the outer V area and some black liner to the top and bottom lash line to give some added drama. The red lips speaks for itself.

Makeup & Beauty Haul

 So here are the products that I recently hauled and showcased on my youtube channel, Pinchofpretty. The video was rushed and I wasnt able to show all of the lipsticks like I wanted to, so I decided to create a blog post. I omitted the swatches because it would make this blog post very picture heavy and I didn't want that. Enjoy. See you next time until the Lord comes....

Its A Photo Shoot!

 Here are the professional images from my most recent photo shoot. I was given the chance to create any kind of looks that I desired. I chose to go with a very earthy and neutural face for the first look. Using her head piece and other accessories as a focal point, I wanted to compliment them and add tad bit of glamour. So, I decided to use a gorgeous pastel beige on the lid. The photos above are truly my favorite.

 

I attempted to create a pin up look. I like the makeup here but I notice the concealer wasn't blended well.  I would have loved to contour her crease more precisely and with a darker shade. I also wish the shot was closer, to really focus on the makeup. I will redo this look another time with a different model, after more practice.

 

Lastly, this photo above is a great one as well. It does not completely emphasize the color and drama to the eyes. Yet, it gives a peek of what was created and it is essentially a great image as well. 

I have discovered that not all photo shoots will be perfect. Especially not at this stage in my career. However, I use images that I am not too fond of as a tool. When I see certain things (within the makeup) that I am not happy with or feel I "coulda, shoulda, woulda"; I use that information and grow. When I see mistakes or flaws, I remember them. I practice at becoming better at that technique or skill. And I remind myself at the next photo shoot to be better than the last.

MAC Deeply Adored Dupe

 

 Deeply Adored is a lipstick that launched in the Marylin Monroe Collection from MAC. Its a limited edition,  medium-dark brown-toned red. It is opaque and has a matte finish. 

Rimmel London's lipstick from the Kate Moss line in #11 is a great dupe. They are exactly the same shade but the finish is sort of semi-matte. It is more creamier than the MAC lipstick but is still long lasting.
