So I decided early on that I would set some money aside so that Black Friday came around I could make a some purchases on a few sites. I must say it was well worth the wait. I was in dire need of some makeup brushes for my freelance kit and I needed some more precise/intricate brushes for myself. I mainly needed blending brushes and a stiffer angled liner brush. The basic brushes I had weren't doing the best for me.
So the first site I order from was Sedona Lace. The entire site was 50% off. I couldn't go as crazy was I wanted to, but what I got was perfect. I order the Vortex Brush Set for $39.98. I am so happy with this set. The vortex set is perfect for a mua or a true makeup lover. It provides you with great quality brushes. It contain two fabulous blending brushes. One is tapered very nicely and the other is a duo fiber. There are also some great contour brushes included as well. The shape of all the brushes are just fabulous. You can really create beautiful looks with them. Way better than the average.
I also order the pink 12 piece professional brush set ($29.98) for my freelance kit. I bought this because it has a lot of the basic brushes for makeup application. I wanted compare the quality of the brushes as well. I have been using ELF brushes for a while. I love them, however there is a big difference in the look, feel and quality of the brushes. As for application, I will create a post in the future about each brush and its performance.
I also order from Coastal Scents for the second time. Everything on their site was 50% off as well. I have been eyeing this smokey palette for months. I can not wait to use these colors. The shadows are small however. I would say they are about the size of a nickel. The colors really stand out and that is what made me fall in love with this palette.
I also purchased the 32 piece brush set for about $18. These brushes are honestly very basic. I think the buffer brush, flat top brush, foundation brush tapered blending brush, and the duo fiber blush brush are the best brushes in the set. Evey thing else is really basic. Yet, its a great buy because it comes with various size eye shadow brushes, eyeliner brushes and a just a couple blending brushes. The are all standard quality in my opinion but a really great set to purchase; especially if you are just beginning. Instead of purchasing many individual inexpensive brushes, I would suggest that one just get this kit. Its also great for a makeup artist searching for basic brushes. Who wants to spend $30 on a shader brush? Not me.
Lastly, I purchased 4 blending brushes for myself. I just really needed some better quality ones. As well as different sizes. When you become more advanced in makeup you will notice that some of the standard brushes do not always perform or place color as you would want them to. So I decided to purchases these four brushes. They ranged from $1.50-$2.50.
