Private Glamour

And this is what Pinch of Pretty is all about. Pampering clients, and enhancing the beauty that is already there. I had the honor of catering to a family of women who were attending and participating in a wedding ceremony. They were so sweet and most of them had never had extensions sewed in. Here are my glamorous divas and the services they received.

This by far was my favorite style. She received a partial sew in with minimal leave out. We did pin curls all around the head and combed them out after they were set. Her makeup was not done by me.

  

Our next client also received a partial sew in with minimal leave out. For her style I pinned the hair to the side and curled the hair with a marcel iron and shaped her bangs to the side. Her makeup was completed by myself as well. She has Matchmaster foundation by MAC in 8.0 all over the face and 7.0 under the eyes. The entire face was set with Black Opal Finishing Powder in Dark and I applied ELF Turks and Caicos around the face for contour. We applied wispy type lashes by Cherry Blossom and the Lorac Pro Palette was used on the eyes. She wanted very simple eyeshadow so I applied Mauve all over the lid, Sable throughout the crease and a little Champange in the inner corners. Cream eyeliner was used to line the top lash line; NYX Wonder Pencil on the waterline; and Espresso eyeshadow on the lower lash line. On the cheeks I gave her a rosy look with some shades from the Blush Too palette. On her lips I applied Cappuccino lip liner by NYX, MAC Angel Lipstick  and NYX Tea Rose Megashine.

 

Mom wanted to be very natural. I chose to give her a bit of glamour with neutral colors. For her eyeshadow I used the Balm Voyage palette and Lorac Pro. I also applied cream eyeliner and mascara. On the skin she previously received a facial. I applied BH Cosmetics foundation in D3 I believe with a little MAC Studio Finish NW45 under the eyes. Contoured slightly with ELF Turks and Caicos. I used the Blush Too palette by Coastal Scents to add just a tap of color on the cheeks. On the lips I applied a brown frost, brown liner and clear gloss. The french twist was designed by myself.

My Most Beautfiful Bride Yet

 2pm was the call time. August 30, 2014 I would drive all the way to Miami to service my bride. I've had two appointments with her previously. This makeup appointment would be something different. It would be much more special. It would be a look she would never forget.

 

To complete this look I used Oktoberfest eyeshadow by Coastal Scents on the outer crease. There was a soft brown eyeshadow also by Coastal that I swept all throughout the crease for a smooth transition. MAC All That Glitters eyeshadow was applied on the lid and Deep Roast on the over "V'.

 

 

On the lips was Girl About Town lipglass by MAC.

I also created a nice soft purple look on one of the bridesmaids.

Just As Pretty As the Bride

Here is one of my lovely clients. This is her third makeup over, I believe. Myrlene was attending a wedding and wanted a little glamour and glitz. I created a hump in her hair and slicked all the rest of her hair back into a bun. She wanted a natural makeup look. So I decided to give her a neutral eye design with beiges, browns, and a peach color. I wanted her face to be really flawless because she suffers from acne scarring. So I opted to give her a slightly heavier coverage of foundation and powder to keep her oily skin matte. She picked out a frosty peach color her lips. I warmed up the look with a nice brown lip liner. Here is her completed look!

Here is another lovely client from September 21, 2013.  As most clients, our #PrettyGirl wanted her makeup to be light and natural with "a pinch of pretty". I decided to sculpt her brows like I do with most clients. Wet N Wild eye liner pencil in Dark Brown, a spoolie and MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW45 will give you this same look. On her eyes I decided to do something beautiful yet not too dramatic. I used the Urban Decay Naked palette; with Smog being the primary color. Black liner was applied to the top lash liner and white liner on the waterline to open up the eye. False lashes were also applied. Very light highlighting and contouring with ELF Turks and Caicos, concealer, MAC Gold Deposit, and MAC's Razin blush. Keeping the look dainty, I decided to pop on Angel lipstick by MAC and lined the lips with a purple NYX liner.

 And as you can see...our client was quite happy to get that pinch of pretty! ;)

MAC Pro

After what seemed as if forever, I have finally been approved to be apart of the MAC Pro Membership Program. Im totally elated! I have already purchased two foundations for my kit. It is a small purchase, but it was a great one. And who can forget the discounted price! I do plan on picking up some more things in the future when funds are available. I did have to pay $35 for the membership card after being approved. However, I find that it is totally worth it. If you are an avid MAC shopper or want to be then you will reap the $35 you spent on the fee. You will save well over $35 if you do any kind of shopping at MAC; be it light or heavy hauling. One perk is that MAC offers workshops and classes to Pro Members. This is fabulous for people who want to touch up on their skills or learn new things. The classes are NOT free but you do end up getting your money back in the form of a MAC gift card (for most classes). So you give a little, you get a lot. I feel it is totally worth it and I cant wait to purchase more product.

HOW DID I GET MY CARD?

Well, I made sure I sent in all the appropriate documents so that I would not be black listed. YOU WILL BE BLACK LISTED IF YOU ARE NOT A MUA AND CONTINUOUSLY APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP! After filling out the application, I sent in a composite card, business card and a screenshot of my website. That's all I had to do.

Lifestyle Shoot

Here are the professional photos from the lifestyle shoot that I did. You saw the previous post where I showed you behind the scenes. Now, here is the outcome. Im not too excited about the photos. I do appreciate that I now have photos showing my range in makeup. Now I can show people that I do work on caucasian clients as well. Other than that, Im not much of a fan. I wish there was more variety in the photos.
