Jen, given the birth name of Djenane Nordelus, has always had a passion for beauty since high school. She noticed how expensive it was to not only purchase weave but paying stylist to complete installations as well. Realizing this she decided to do her hair on her own. She started with simple tasks such as quick weave wraps; then ventured off into curly styles, braids, and even twists. All of the sudden, people began to notice her creativity. They too wanted to be styled by Jen. Her talent grew and grew.
Just a few years later, Jen began watching YouTube videos and she was introduced to the world of makeup. She had never been the teenage girl wearing makeup. In fact, she hated makeup. But it was at that very moment, video after video, that she fell in love with it. She found herself staying up late watching tutorials, shopping cosmetic sites and viewing blogs about makeup. After this, she decided to dive into the industry and educated herself about the ins and outs of makeup. Makeup has been her first love and passion ever since.
On April 9, 2012, Pinch of Pretty was created. Working under her own company Jen Nordelus began to do freelance work as a makeup artist. She wanted to cater to those individuals who were not afraid of being bold or natural, expressive and beautiful. She wanted people to experience her love of makeup. In doing so she has helped many women enhance their inner and outer beauty.
Jen is currently working with designers, stylists, artists, videographers, models, and even photographers. Jen is dedicated to her clients and her craft. Each day is an opportunity to learn something new, make someone feel beautiful, or purchase a new lipstick.Working with brides, celebrities, and everyday women, Jen will soon grace the world's top shelf magazine covers. Yet, Jen will always remain the same determined makeup artist while painting the faces of every client like it is her last and reminding them that beauty never sleeps.
